Welcome to Ebby's Lounge!
Ebby's Lounge provides virtual coaching services via phone and or zoom where women can receive the support of an accountability partner. I help my clients gain clarity about what they really want, identify their gifts, discover their passion and develop a game plan to do what they love.
Our mission at Ebby's Lounge is to create a positive, empowering safe space where women can be themselves, relax and be supported as they pursue and achieve their goals. When we do facilitate sister circles, it's our time to take off the mask & inspire one another, recharge, gain clarity, while also discussing ideas, and challenges. Surrounded by sisterly love, we receive tools, information and strategies that help us realign to our higher selves as well as inspire us to achieve our personal and professional goals. I believe it's important to connect with people who will encourage you as you pursue your vision, and we do this through our sister circles and through one-on-one coaching sessions.
A little of My Story In my early twenties I remember feeling discouraged and let down because I was unemployed even after graduating from college plus also having a certificate from a trade school I attended. One day I took the time to speak to a friend who asked me some thought provoking questions, which I would like to say was a "light bulb" moment for me. Her questions reminded me of what I loved to do and some of the things I was passionate about. After 2 weeks of our conversation I landed a job. My position at that job also helped ignite other gifts I didn't know I had. That "light bulb" moment led me to later on becoming a Life Coach. Furthermore I always knew in my heart I really wanted to help empower women and especially mothers, this came about because of my experience of having my baby. Plus I always had a fascination with the healthcare industry, being a former Home Health Aide, Nursing Assistant & now Ultrasound Technician. I believe that giving birth is miraculous and I wanted to become an empowering support to mothers. That one moment with my friend helped me to further think about my other gifts, I wrote plays and partnered with senior centers. I became a Dance Instructor within the schools to teach elementary and junior high school students, which I later incorporated drama classes. I had a passion to help women so, I began hosting women empowerment workshops where women could come together to connect and discuss their goals and challenges while learning ways to overcome barriers and gain strategies and tools to move forward. That experience, along with writing my first 3 books, led me to the path of entrepreneurship, as well as, being invited to speak at women empowerment events.
How I became a Doula Several years ago, I attended a networking event where I met an amazing woman who is the founder of a Doula organization. We stayed in contact and she shared with me the opportunity to be trained as a Doula. That day was a reminder to me that I still had a purpose supporting expecting mothers. I said "yes" to the opportunity and became a Birth Doula in 2014 and then certified by DONA International in 2016. I later received training in postpartum care and Lactation Counseling. 2019 I was asked on several occasions if I offer birth doula training. In which I replied "No" and told people where they could go but I kept being asked by different women and one time I was asked by the same person twice so I took this as a sign or (call) to create and offer birth doula training for women who are feeling led to support expecting mothers in their community. And in 2020 I started offering birth doula workshops. Since answering this call I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing women and entrepreneurs who are very passionate about their work and enhancing the lives of women and families and I am grateful for them and for saying yes to the call.
Being a Birth Doula, I love what I do. My mission is to help expectant mothers to have a nurturing, empowering, supportive and positive birth experience. I have attended births at birthing centers, hospitals and at home births in NYC and Long Island and now also accepting clients in DC, Maryland & Virginia. I am also a supporter of VBACs. (Vaginal Birth After C-section). I have worked with first time mothers to moms who have several children. I support the birth you want and support your partner. I also have back up Doulas so you will have an empowering, professional and caring Doula by your side, who will celebrate with you as you bring your baby into the world. And now as a trainer, I am happy to see other women pursue their passion in this kind of work.
Life Coach As a Life Coach, I help women get clear about what they want by helping them to identify & activate their natural gifts, while assisting them in developing a game plan to pursue their vision. I know first hand what it feels like working at jobs that's not fulfilling and because of my experience i wanted to help woman who felt like i did. I am grateful for having the opportunity to help others find their happy place and ignite their passion again.
Former Ustream TV Show Host A few years ago, I was invited to attend a networking event that was outside of my comfort zone. Matter of fact, the event had nothing to do with coaching or Doula work. My friend convinced me to go, while my friend was giving out flyers and talking to everyone. That day I kind of kept to myself, having a hard time being extroverted at the moment, but before I left I met one woman, we both shared what we did and she invited me to be on her Ustream TV Show. After that show, she invited me to come back on her show a second time, after coming back on again she offered me an opportunity to host my own Ustream TV show, which I called "Live Your Dreams with Ebby Knights". It was a fun and an eye opening experience. I did that show for awhile before I moved. That experience taught me, We have to take a step of faith and sometimes get out of our comfort zone. I want to share the advice someone told me "Don't give up on your dreams no matter how long it takes, because when you keep moving forward in it doors of opportunities can open up for you.
In Conclusion The purpose of what I do is to help women connect, heal, and feel the sense of sisterhood as well as overcome barriers, be inspired to pursue their dreams and be empowered to empower others, while holistically creating an overall wellness within ourselves and for those we love. It is so awesome when women come together to support and encourage one another, it's rewarding, rejuvenating, inspirational & powerful. I believe we can learn a lot from one another & when we are willing to share our wisdom, utilize our gifts and support one another we bring out the best in ourselves, families and community.
